Fontanili Estate borders Lake Burano, a lagoon managed by WWF. Here guests can spend time bird-watching in autumn and spring. Lake Burano is located in Maremma, at the southern end of Tuscany. Known as the State Nature Reserve and WWF Oasis since 1980, it has a unique feature that looks like a lagoon: it is separated from the sea by an impressive expanse of dunes covered with thick vegetation, but connected to the Tyrrhenian Sea by an artificial channel that is opened as needed. Awarded the title of "Italian wonder", Burano's oasis was recognized for its beauty.
