The farmhouse of San Bartolomeo, located in Sarteano, dates back to the 18th century. It is spread over 4 hectares of outdoor space that includes secular trees, an apple orchard as well as a vegetable and herb garden. The 2-storey residence has 6 bedrooms and can sleep up to 14 people. It retains its historic facade but has been renovated and now features an amazing mix of antique and contemporary furnishings.
Villa San Bartolomeo exudes tranquility and overlooks the Valdichiana countryside. It is also located near a thickly wooded area with wild roses. The spacious living areas allow for relaxation and entertainment. A modern, fully-equipped kitchen will make a lasting impression on your vacation. The patio and swimming pool are great places to relax all day.

San Bartolomeo's outdoor area includes a 10mX10m infinity swimming pool that is open on all sides. This pool offers the opportunity to take long summer dips under cool evening skies. It is also surrounded by four hectares of secular trees, an orchard, a special collection of roses as well as a herb and vegetable garden which is automatically-watered. The property has a terraced lawn in front and a larger one at back. This allows you to enjoy the peace and quiet of the thick woods, the beauty of nature, or just relax under the stars. Guests can host parties and dinners in the BBQ oven or on-site.
San Bartolomeo's interiors have been renovated and furnished with both antique and contemporary decor. The property's large living spaces are a highlight. They can be used for entertaining or just relaxing. The kitchen is fully equipped and modern, making it easy to prepare delicious meals or just grab a cup of Italian coffee every day.
Each day, staff performs the 4 hour cleaning task in the mornings and changes the bed and bath linens once per week. Pool maintenance is also carried out, and a personal chef service is available for hire should guests wish to taste professionally-cooked meals during their stay. The property grounds allow for large parties and reunions. Advance booking is required. Guests can also enjoy fresh produce from the garden, and complimentary WiFi Internet is available throughout.
From the house, a four-kilometer dirt road runs through oak and beech woods. It leads to Sarteano's center. This area is believed to have been visited by Saint Francis in 1212 and 1215. He lived in the cell in the woods with a large cross on the floor. Sarteano, which is only 10 minutes from the property's location, is also close by. However, guests will be happy to know that there are other Medieval towns such as Pienza and Montepulciano within a short distance. All of these towns offer picturesque churches, village squares and fine dining options.
Pienza is a must-visit place because of its beautiful and well-preserved Renaissance architecture. It is considered a masterpiece of Renaissance urban design and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many visitors come to admire the stunning palaces, churches, and city walls. The city also boasts various museums, galleries, and local shops selling traditional crafts and souvenirs. Pienza is a great place to explore and experience the history and culture of the region.
Montepulciano offers a lot of breathtaking views of the Tuscan countryside. The small hilltop town is filled with winding cobblestone streets and old churches. It's a great destination for anyone looking to experience the beauty of the Italian countryside.
